Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The Milwaukee Education Partnership (MEP) will once again provide information to students and families who need assistance with the completion of the FAFSA. Submission of the FAFSA is a necessary step for students and their families who seek scholarships, grants or loans to attend a higher education institution.

The United States Department of Education (USDOE) has made available the new 2024-2025 FAFSA application (see https://studentaid.gov for additional information).

The MEP will have outreach presence and knowledgeable staff during the entire nine days of Summerfest 2025, on the Milwaukee lakefront’s Henry Maier Festival Park grounds, to disseminate information and direct families to partner locations prepared to provide personal assistance with the FAFSA application completion process.

Those who initiate the application process prior to July 4, 2025 will be given a free pass to this year’s Summerfest. For more information regarding assistance with completing the FAFSA, please consider the following resources;

Student Financial Services

Student Financial Services is a new collaboration that includes the Financial Aid Office, the Bursar/Cashier’s Office, the Office of Student Scholarships, and the Student Financial Service Center (SFSC). The SFSC is the office that will serve as students’ and parents’ go-to place for answers to questions about Scholarships, Financial Aid, and Billing.

Please confirm office hours prior to making a trip to Mellencamp Hall. If you need to submit a document that requires someone witnesses your signature, please consider the Notary option.

Answers to many questions can be found on our website! If you’re not sure where to look, you can also Ask Pounce, our Chatbot. If you have questions specific to your account, check your PAWS Student Center first for items on your To-Do List and to review any aid offered to you.

Need to Submit Documents to Us?
The best way to submit documents is via mail or fax. Many students will also email documents, but if you choose this option, please mask any social security numbers for additional security. You can also drop documents off in-person during open office hours. Details for all of these can be found below in the How To Reach Us section below.

Meet with a Student Financial Service Center Advisor

Advisors are available to assist with more complex questions and can be helpful if you’re looking to spend a little extra time talking through financial aid, billing, and scholarship questions. Unfortunately, due to staffing issues, availability may be limited. Email and phones continue to be the quickest way to have your more general questions answered.

Schedule an appointment!

While you are not yet able to schedule an in person appointment in advance, drop in on our Walk In Wednesday hours! Any Wednesday that classes are in session you can stop by the SFSC between 9am and 3pm to meet with an advisor on a first come, first serve basis.

Our staff continue to be available by phone and e-mail during regular business hours, so please reach out with any questions you have!
